Twin Exhibitions on rare Manuscripts and Artifacts organised in Jammu

JAMMU: The World Heritage Week is being observed globally from 19th to 25th November every year. The event marks the celebration and spread of awareness about Art, Culture and Heritage of a place.

The Department of Archives, Archaeology & Museums which is the vanguard of Art and Culture of Dogra Pride is also celebrating the World Heritage Week with vigour and enthusiasm.

To mark the occasion, a special exhibition on rare Manuscripts, Royal Albums and Historical Records has been organized in Archives Repository, Jammu.

Similarly, an exhibition of Artefacts, Manuscripts, Paintings, and Numismatics etc has also been organized in Dogra Art Museum, Jammu.

 A number of students from schools and colleges of Jammu have been invited to come to the Department for familiarization and awareness about Dogra Art and Culture. A number of schools have visited the Museum where they show keen interest in Manuscripts, Royal Albums and Historical Record, objects and artefacts put on display. The children of various schools were taken for a guided tour of different galleries of the Museum and Archives Repository where they were made aware of history and significance of various Art objects by well-trained guides. The event is being closely monitored and supervised by Dr. Sangeeta Sharma, Assistant Director Archives, Archaeology and Museum, Jammu & Sh. Mukul Magotra, Curator, Dogra Art Museum, Jammu.

Pardeep Kumar, Director Archives, Archaeology and Museum, J&K is very keen and particular about spreading the awareness of Art and Culture to every nook and corner of the UT of J&K. To give fillip to this objective, instructions have been imparted from the Director to make the event a grand success by inviting more and more people and institutions for the occasion so that a comprehensive awareness about Art and Culture is generated.
