KATHUA: Kathua registered a resounding win in the recently concluded Divisional Level round of Kala Utsav 2023-24, as the students from the District bagged maximum first position among all districts of Jammu division. It was the third consecutive win of the district in the early Divisional Level Round of Kala Utsav.
The two-day long event was conducted from 17th November to 18th November at Teachers’ Bhawan, Jammu.
The students from district Kathua participated in all 20 competitions held under 10 different categories of art forms of dance, music, instrumental, indigenous toy making, 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional visual arts ,drama in which the district level winners from all districts from Jammu division competed with each other.
The winners of the divisional level competition had also won contests held at school and zonal levels. In the overall results, district Kathua was declared champion and in 20 competitions, seven first positions ,Six 2nd Positions and two third positions meant overall 15 positions were won by Kathua district. The winners included Pragati Mishra, Shivam Singh , Rubby ,Manish Kumar ,Bhumika Singh ,Vaishnavi Parasher ,Kushal Kumar ,Suhani Mehta, Pratham, Suvanshika , Sahil Kumar ,Shivanshi Thakur , Riyaz Ahmed ,Sahira Tabasum & Anshika Sharma.
The first winners of this round would be competing with the winners from the Kashmir division at the UT level Kala Ustav competition.
Chief Education Officer Kathua, P.L. Thapa congratulated the winners, mentor teachers, DICCs, ZICCs, SICCs, ZEOs of respective zones and all the concerned HOIs and teaching community of district Kathua for a brilliant performance. He said that it gives him immense pleasure to be part of the winning district for the third consecutive year.
The officer said that he wishes that district Kathua shall lead on all fronts and all the competitions. He further said that he had seen himself, the participants and all other stakeholders working very hard and wished that they win at UT level and National level as well. He said that he recognizes the work done by all the stakeholders and specially appreciates District Incharge Cultural & Education Cell Kathua headed by Monika Khosla and her team of all Zonal Incharges in conducting the whole event smoothly.
