DC Poonch reviews arrangements for Gurupurb celebrations

POONCH: In preparation for the Gurupurab (Prakash Diwas of Guru Nanak Dev Ji), Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary today presided over a meeting here in the conference hall of DC Office to discuss the arrangements for the auspicious day with the stakeholder departments and representatives of religious organisations.

It was informed that the Morning Parbhat Pheri would commence on November 19th, followed by the Nagar Kirtan procession on November 25th. The main congregation will be held at Gurdwara Singh Sabha on November 27th.

The attendees highlighted a range of issues pertaining to the event’s organization, including the provision of drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, sanitation, security arrangements, medical facilities and the installation of barricades for the performance of martial arts (Gatka) at the college ground.

The Deputy Commissioner issued directions to the Executive Engineers from the Jal Shakti and Power development departments to ensure uninterrupted water and power supply to all Gurudwaras on the day of Parkash Diwas.

The Municipal authorities were asked to maintain cleanliness and clear the dump sites, if any, near the Gurudwara Sahib and other   religious places.

The meeting attendees were informed that comprehensive security and traffic plans have been formulated to facilitate the smooth movement and joyful celebrations of Guru Purab.

Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Chief Medical Officer to make available medical facilities and deploy an ambulance during the Nagar Kirtan procession.

The Xen PHE was instructed to deploy water tanks as required, while the AD Food was tasked with ensuring an adequate supply of HP Gas Cylinders.

The other religious heads assured that they will together provide full support to facilitate smooth and harmonious celebration of Gurupurab with unity and solidarity.
