SHOPIAN: To facilitate un- employed youth to establish sustainable livelihoods in the transport sector, 12 small commercial vehicles (CVs) were today distributed among the unemployed youth of the district under the Mumkin scheme of Mission Youth programme at Mini Secretariat Shopian.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz and Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shopian, Shahbaz Ahmad Bodha handed over keys to these beneficiaries during the distribution ceremony.
The Mumkin scheme under the Mission Youth programme is aimed to provide sustainable livelihood to the unemployed youth of UT of Jammu and Kashmir. Under the Scheme, small commercial vehicles are provided to the unemployed youth of J&K with the total 20 percent subsidy of the on-road price provided jointly by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and Vehicle Manufacturers.
AD Employment, Hafsa Qayoom informed that so far 213 cases have been approved under Mumkin Scheme in the district and till date, 121 small commercial vehicles to the beneficiaries were distributed on different occasions.
Employment Officer DECC, Shopian, Rozi Jan; Career Counselling Officer DECC Shopian, Aishaq Ayub Bhat and other officials of DE&CC Shopian were also present in the distribution function.
