REASI: In a significant step towards uplifting the lives of traditional Artisans/craftspeople through the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, a meeting of District Level Committee was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Babila Rakwal to review the status of smooth roll-out of the said scheme in the District.
GM DIC, Reasi Mohammad Anwar Banday gave a brief overview of the scheme and also informed the committee members about the objectives of the scheme & challenges before the department for smooth implementation of the same in the District. Later on Power point presentation was also given by Ankur Sharma, FM.
While speaking on the occasion, the DC said that this initiative is set to empower and provide invaluable support to the artisans, commonly known as Vishwakarmas, who form a vital part of the informal or unorganized sector of the economy.
DC stressed the significance of enrolling beneficiaries with the active participation of PRI members, who play a pivotal role in the verification of beneficiaries. She emphasized the need for the widespread implementation of the scheme in all the wards of Municipalities and all panchayats across the district.
The DC further underscored the importance of conducting sensitization and awareness camps to ensure that every eligible artisan reaps the benefits of this transformative scheme.
Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Reasi, EO Municipality Katra, DM CSC Reasi, Superintendent ITI Reasi and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
