Government Polytechnic College Kishtwar celebrates World Standards Day

KISHTWAR: Government Polytechnic College, Kishtwar celebrated World Standards Day showcasing the students’ talents in a Debate Competition, Skit, and Cultural Activities.

 The event, hosted by the Standard Club of Government Polytechnic College Kishtwar, aimed to highlight the significance of international standards and their profound impact on our daily lives.

The festivities commenced with a keynote address by Er. Dheeraj Prakash Shan, mentor and resource person of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and an expert in the field of standards and their relevance across various industries.

Er. Shan emphasized the critical role of international standards in ensuring product quality, safety, and interoperability.

As many as 70 students from the 1st, 3rd, and 5th semesters of Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering actively participated, showcasing their exceptional skills in debate, skit, and cultural activities.

In the Debate Competition, Pratap Singh from secured the first prize, followed by Badal Singh and  Rajesh Kumar receiving the second and third prizes respectively.

The Dance Competition saw Anchal clinching the first prize, while Khushboo the second prize. In the Skit category, Rajesh and Team claimed the top spot.

Cash rewards and medals were distributed to the winners.

Principal of the College, Er. Mahmood Ahmad congratulated the winners and expressed gratitude to the mentors, faculty members and students who contributed to the success of the event.
