UDHAMPUR: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, chaired a meeting with officers and field functionaries of the Jal Shakti Department to assess the latest status of work carried out under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district.
The meeting took place at the Mini Conference Hall in the DC Office Complex Udhampur.
At the outset of the meeting, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti, Ashok Kumar Sharma, provided an overview of the current progress of work under the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme in the district.
During the meeting, a detailed review of the work progress under the Jal Jeevan Mission was conducted, with the Deputy Commissioner urging all concerned officers to accelerate the pace of their efforts to meet the project’s objectives within the specified timeframe. She further instructed the Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) to conduct review meetings and address any issues related to the implementation of JJM in their respective areas.
Additionally, the officers were tasked with regular monitoring to ensure the quality and timely completion of all allocated projects. The DC emphasized the need for officers to report reasons for delays and provide details of contractors responsible for any setbacks to the concerned SDMs. She underscored the importance of making every possible effort to achieve the goal of providing tap water to all households within the projected timeline.
