Says ‘militancy’ has not ended, situation can’t be changed without dialogue, visits DySP’s residence in Humhama to offer condolences
SRINAGAR: National Conference president and Member of Parliament, Dr Farooq Abdullah on Thursday said that militancy has not ended in Jammu & Kashmir and that only dialogue can ensure peace here.
Farooq Abdullah, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), visited the residence of deputy superintendent of police, Himayun Muzamil Bhat at Humhama, who was killed in Anantnag encounter last evening.
Senior Abdullah while talking to media persons said that militancy has not come to an end in J&K.
“We cannot achieve peace without holding talks. Fighting with enemies can only lead to destruction and Ukraine is the perfect example of it,” he said.
He added that the talks must be held between India and Pakistan, he said, adding that if the militancy according to the government has reduced then how such incidents are taking place.
“These incidents will continue to take place until and unless the talks are held between the two nations. We are living in a fool’s paradise if we think that the situation will change without the talks. Therefore, both the governments should sit on a table to discuss the issues,” he said.
Asked about the infiltration of militants, he added that he has apprehensions whether these militants are coming from any other country.
