Director RDD tours Baramulla; takes stock of different projects under SBM-G, MGNREGA

Directs concerned for ramping up pace of work to achieve timely results

BARAMULLA: The Director Rural Development (RDD) Kashmir, Shabir Hussain Bhat today conducted an extensive tour of Baramulla district and took stock of various developmental works being executed under centrally sponsored Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen (SBM-G) and MGNREGA.

At the outset of his visit, the Director  inspected Solid Waste Segregation Sheds and other verticals of SBM-G in block Pattan during which he was briefed about the execution of works plan by the Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Baramulla, Gulzar Ahmad Khan.

He also took appraisal of Plastic Waste Management Unit being constructed at Palhallan wherein he directed the concerned authorities to accelerate the tempo of work so that it is completed within the stipulated time frame.

The Director also inspected several other SBM verticals including Community Sanitatry Complexes (CSC), Community Soakpits etc at different locations of the district and took the first hand appraisal of their pace and position.

Bhat expressed satisfaction over the progress cum performance achieved in SBM-G besides applauding the functionaries for their tireless efforts for achieving saturation in the identified indicators.

Meanwhile, the Director also took inspection of Amrit Sarovar sites being developed at different locations under MGNREGA wherein Assistant Commissioner Development Baramulla Shabir Ahmad Hakak appraised him about their current status. The Director exhorted to mobilize all the available resources productively so that all the desired results are timely achieved.

Later, the Director paid visit of RDD complex Baramulla where he took stock of the functioning of different sections  and emphasized upon the officials to work with zeal and dedication for delivering public services smoothly and efficiently. He also stressed for streamlining and strengthening the work culture in sub-ordinate offices of RDD so that a robust mechanism of public accountability and transparency is ensured.
