DC chairs Mega Conclave on Computerization of Cooperative Societies in Rajouri

RAJOURI: In a significant step towards advancing digital transformation and fostering cooperative sector growth, a Mega Conclave on the Computerization of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) was held today with District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal as the chief guest.

This event was organized by the Cooperative Department and aims to usher in a new era of streamlined operations and efficiency within the cooperative sector. The event witnessed the participation of prominent members from different cooperative societies from within the district.

The Deputy Commissioner interacted with the cooperative society members to understand their needs, concerns, and aspirations. The dialogue provided valuable insights in tailoring the computerization process to suit the requirements of the cooperative societies, ultimately resulting in improved service delivery and enhanced farmer support.

The computerization of PACS is poised to bring about numerous benefits, including increased transparency, efficient record-keeping, seamless financial transactions, and better accessibility to essential services. This initiative aligns with the broader vision of leveraging technology to empower rural communities and uplift their economic prospects.

The Deputy Commissioner also expressed optimism about the positive impact of computerization and the diverse services provided by the cooperative societies. He affirmed that these efforts would enhance the overall socio-economic development of the district, improve service delivery, and empower the local community. During the event, the Deputy Commissioner also handed over the first computer to the Lamberi PACS under the computerization of PACS project.

Among the others, the District Development Manager, NABARD, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr Khalid Hussain; CAO, Sohan Singh; District Information Officer, Israr Bukhari; Assistant Registrar (HQr), Mohd Naseer and other officers and concerned stakeholders attended the meeting.
