DC Ramban inspects vulnerable spots at NH-44, directs concerned to ensure free flow of traffic movement

RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today inspected progress on prestigious National Highway-44 projects from Ramban to Nashri being executed by the National Highway Authority of India, besides reviewing the status of existing roads especially at critical spots.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic, National Highway, Ramban, Rohit Baskotra, Project Director, NHAI PIU, Ramban, Parshotam Kumar, Project Director, NHAI PIU,  Udhampur, Anuj Kumar, Chief Education Officer, Devanand, Tehsildar Batote, Vijay Sharma, Tehsildar Ramban, Rafiq Ahmed and various concerned officers and representatives of the concessionaire companies.

Discussing the issues hindering the speed of traffic at Dhalwas and suggestions given by the SSP Traffic, the DC directed the executing agency to maintain the road at critical and other identified spots as discussed to avoid traffic congestion and for free flow of vehicular movement on NH-44 especially during ensuing fruit season.

After inspecting the spot position, the DC directed the construction companies to accelerate the pace of work on construction of cut and cover tunnel project, besides maintaining existing road for smooth plying of traffic at Mehar stretch.

Resolving all the issues hindering the pace of progress highlighted by the PD, NHAI, the DC assured that District Administration shall extend full cooperation for timely completion of the National Project to meet the deadline.

Earlier, the DC also inspected progress on restoration work of culvert at Tringla Nallah in Batote and fixed a deadline for completion of construction work. He also impressed upon the PD, NHAI, PIU Udhampur to maintain the road from Patnitop to Nashri for smooth traffic movement.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner also inspected the functioning of Government High School, Dhalwas and directed CEO Ramban to depute adequate teaching staff to provide quality education to students in the school.
