Directs officers to ensure outreach of Government welfare schemes
KUPWARA: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan chaired a Mega Block Diwas at Dak Banglow Keran to hear the issues and grievances of the general public at their doorsteps.
Addressing the function, the DDC said that district Kupwara, especially border areas like Keran, offers ample opportunities for tourism activities and appealed to the people to participate in these activities to generate employment opportunities for themselves.
She stressed upon the officers to be responsive on ground for redressal of the grievances of the people. She also asked them for proper outreach of the welfare programmes and schemes of their respective departments adding that the people have also the responsibility to aware themselves about the Government schemes to contribute towards society and nation.
She said that PRIs including Sarpanches and Panches have to take lead in promotion of the Government welfare schemes for the benefit of the people.
Earlier, PRIs including BDC Chairperson, local Sarpanches and senior citizens spoke and raised their day to day developmental issues and grievances.
The DDC heard their issues patiently and directed the concerned officers to ensure that all genuine issues are resolved, timely.
Ayushi also distributed sanction letters among PMEGP beneficiaries on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the DDC inspected different stalls installed by various departments including ICDS, Animal/Sheep Husbandry, Horticulture and Agriculture department.
Later, the DDC participated in a NashaMukt rally organized by the ICDS department which was taken from Higher Secondary School Keran and concluded at Tehsil Office Keran.
SSP Kupwara, Yougal Manhas; BDC Chairperson Keran, CMO, CAO, DIO, AD Food, AD Fisheries, Tehsildar, BDO, Engineers from Jal Shakti, PDD, R&B, besides, PRIs and people in large number attended the Block Diwas function.
