Takes firsthand appraisal of situation arisen due to rains
KULGAM: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi Ud Din Bhat today visited several areas of the district to take firsthand appraisal of the situation arisen due to rains in these flood prone areas.
During the visit, the DC toured Pranhal, Aadigatnoo, Chambagund, Laisoo, Gudder, Khudwani and Qaimoh areas of Kulgam and took a detailed stock of current status of water level of rivers, availability of sand bags, machinery and other arrangements available in the district.
On the occasion, Dr Bilal interacted with the people and listened to their issues.
The DC also instructed the officers to stay at their respective headquarters and not to leave the station.
It was informed that in view of incessant rains, District Administration Kulgam has established Control Rooms at Tehsil and District level and following numbers can be contacted in case of any exigency or for essentialities. It was also shared that several families were also shifted to safer places.
During his visit, the DC was accompanied by ACR Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, ACD Mohammad Imran Khan, Tehsiladar and other officers.
