DODA: Director of Rural Development Department (RDD) Jammu, Mohammad Mumtaz Ali, along with Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Doda, Phulail Singh, today visited the blocks of Ghat and Bhagwah in District Doda to oversee the ongoing camps for registration of beneficiaries enlisted in the Permanent Wait List (PWL) for PMAY-G Awass Plus Scheme.

The RDD authorities at block level have been instructed to organize special facilitation camps to collect necessary documents from beneficiaries for their registration and approval, as new targets have been allocated to them under the rural housing scheme.

The government has set a deadline of June 30, 2023, for sanctioning these cases, and the completion of houses is expected by March 31, 2024.

During the visit, ACD Doda, Phulail Singh, informed the Director that apart from the facilitation camps at the block level, Panchayat level committees have been formed to reach out to beneficiaries at their homes and collect the required documents for registration. It is worth mentioning that the district has been assigned a target of constructing 15,000 houses under the Awas Plus component of PMAY-G.

In his interactions with officials, the RDD Director stressed the importance of simplifying the registration and verification process to make it hassle-free for beneficiaries. He also took the time to address the queries raised by beneficiaries present at the camp.
