2- day Life Skill Training on Substance Abuse Disorder begins in GDC Kishtwar

KISHTWAR: A two-day life skill training on Substance Abuse Disorder began today here in the Conference Hall of Government Degree College Kishtwar.

The training aimed to combat the menace of drug addiction in the district and witnessed the participation of approximately 80 delegates. The participants included school teachers, masters, lecturers, senior lecturers from the School Education Department, and assistant professors from   GDC Chatroo, GDC Padder, and GDC Kishtwar.

The chief guest for today’s training session was Col. Dr. K Seby, a renowned psychiatrist and Incharge of Kishtwar, Doda, and Ramban.

District Nodal Officer Addiction Treatment Facility, Dr. Arif Ahanger, and Dr. Haris Masood also spoke on the issue.

The program commenced with a welcome address by the College Principal Dr. Jyoti Parihar, while the Convenor of the Red Ribbon Club, Prof. Faisal Mushtaq, introduced the guests to the audience and coordinated the entire event.

In his address, Col. Seby delivered a detailed presentation on Substance Abuse Disorder, explaining the signs and symptoms for identifying drug addicts in the initial stage. He motivated the teaching fraternity to remain vigilant and maintain a friendly approach towards potential drug addicts to control this menace peacefully.

 Dr. Arif and Dr. Haris also provided a brief description of the functioning of ATF in District Hospital Kishtwar.

The session concluded with a question-answer session where experts provided detailed explanations to all the queries raised by the participants.
