JALANDHAR: Three men allegedly hurled bricks at Punjab’s Local Bodies Minister Balkar Singh’s vehicle late last night. As per reports, the accused allegedly intercepted his vehicle and chased it in a drunken stupor and attacked it near Guru Ravi Dass Dham towards his home at Wadala Chowk.
The incident happened at around 1 am last night.
The accused have been arrested. A black luxury car used by the assailants has also been recovered.
“The assailants were reportedly in an inebriated condition. A case under Sections 153 and 186 of the IPC has been lodged,” said Police Commissioner Kuldeep Chahal.
The minister was reportedly going home after attending a late night function and his wife was also with him.
The arguments started over parking of vehicle outside an eatery. The arrested accused include a youth from a chicken corner.
