JAMMU: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Avny Lavasa today flagged off first a contingent of 194 players and 44 officials from MA Stadium for 66th National School Games.
Director Youth Services & Sports, Subhash Chibber; Joint Director YSS, Suram Chand; DD YSS, Jatinder Mishra; DD Planning, Ravi Kumar along with other officers and staff members were present on the occasion.
The School Games Federation of India (SGFI) is conducting 66th National School Games (2022-23) in various sports disciplines in the age group of U/19 years (Boys & Girls) after a gap of three years.
The UT contingents comprising 383 (Boys & Girls) along with 85 officials are taking part in the 66th National School Games in 20 sports disciplines to be held at different venues across the country including Delhi, Bhopal and Gwalior.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the LG Administration is committed to provide all facilities to the sports fraternity including infrastructure so that they can perform better in national and international events.
She advised the players to focus on game rather than win or defeat. She said that the players are the brand ambassador of UT of J&K and they should play the game with sportsmanship.
The Deputy Commissioner wished the players best of luck and expressed that their performance in the sports will bring laurels to J&K.
