JAMMU: Government SPMR College of Commerce on Wednesday organised Parent-Teacher Meet 2023 which was attended by Parents/ Guardians of B.Com, BBA, BCA, B.Com (Hons) and M.com students.
The main purpose of the meeting was to create a common platform, where teachers and parents come together to discuss the performance of their wards and seek feedback in order to bring improvement in their overall development. Prof. Savita Jamwal introduced the parents with the principal and faculty members.
Lauding the efforts of committee members, Dr. Surinder Kumar, Principal, Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, sensitized the parents about the existing facilities available in the college as well as forthcoming facilities which shall be available to the students. He also motivated the students to login into their Id in the college website to check if their marks are being uploaded or not.
IQAC Coordinator, Dr. Monika Malhotra said that the college will hold more PTMs at regular intervals so that a strong bond can be created between parents and teachers for the benefit of students.
Parents of the students attended PTM with all vigour and enthusiasm. The overall progress of the student which included the overall satisfaction of students regarding teaching, library facilities, handling of students grievances, basic amenities available to students in the college was discussed with parents.
The meeting culminated with a vote of thanks by Prof. Reeta Menia to all parents for gracing the occasion with their kind presence.
The entire event was coordinated by Dr. Monika Malhotra and Prof. Savita Jamwal, Convener Student Welfare Committee. The faculty present were Prof. Barbara Kaul, Prof. Sjafkat Jahangir, Dr. Parveen Singh, Prof Ashu Manhas, Prof Reeta Meenia, Prof. Shreya Sharma, Dr. Prof. Charandeep, Dr. Roomi Rani and Malik Aijaz. Abdul provided the necessary non technical support. The proceedings of the event were conducted by Prof Apfan Ali and vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Jagmeet Kaur.
