ANANTNAG: A complete shutdown is being observed in Qazigund town in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district against opening of a new wine shop in the locality.

Eyewitnesses told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that all shops and business establishments were shut while there was thin movement of traffic also to protest against the opening of wine shops in the area.

Locals said that opening of a wine shop will be a nuisance for the general public even as the government is claiming to wage war against drug abuse, but they are allowing liquor shops to function normally.

They appealed to the government to reconsider the decision of opening wine shop in the area.
