MP Jugal Kishore reviews implementation of central schemes in Poonch

POONCH: Member of Parliament (LS) Jammu-Poonch Constituency, Jugal Kishore Sharma today chaired the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) at a meeting held in Dak Bunglow Poonch.

 At the outset, District Development Commissioner,  Yasin M. Choudhary presented the status of the sector – wise developmental achievements and implementation of central and UT sponsored schemes in the district through a PowerPoint presentation.

The chair was informed that against the total target of 30594 units District Poonch has constructed 23273 units under PMAY-G & Awaas Plus, out of which 11802 units were completed in the financial year 2022-23.

Similarly,  13206 works have been completed under MGNREGA in the year 2022-23 generating  22.78 Lacs PDs against the target of 20.71 Lacs PDs.

”Against the target of construction 75 Amrit Sarovars, 110 stands will be completed in the year 2022-23. District has achieved 104% saturation of families under Ayushmaan Bharat, for which the district has been Awarded by Hon’ble LG of UT in Nov 2022” the DC said and highlighted many other achievements.

Stressing on speedy completion of all ongoing works and projects, the MP reviewed implementation and progress recorded under Ayushman Bharat/JK SAHET Scheme, PMGSY, SBM, JJM, RDSS, PMKSY, ICDS MGNREGA, PMAY, and other schemes.

Detailed review of achievements of different departments including R&B, PMGSY, PHE, Horticulture, Agriculture, Social Welfare, Animal and Sheep Husbandry was also taken by the chair.       

While praising the District Administration Poonch for timely execution and completion of works and successful implementation of schemes, the Member Parliament laid emphasis on working in close coordination with elected representatives to maintain the pace of development works  and timely removal of bottlenecks.

While reviewing achievements under different schemes, the MP directed the officers to expedite the augmentation of the road network, especially PMGSY roads. He further directed for completion of Mandi-Chandak road and Mandi Bridge before Shri Buddha Amarnath Ji Yatra. He also directed concerned officers to resolve the genuine issues raised by the members of the DISHA committee.

The MP emphasized on sustenance of developmental activities and improvement in education, health and PHE sectors besides road connectivity to ensure better facilities to the people of Poonch. He also directed officers to adhere to timelines set for achieving allocated targets.

 The Member Parliament said that transparency and efficiency in governance has been the hallmark of the present government.

He also added that the government is committed that the benefits of CSS shall reach the last corner of the district.
