Asks for complete utilization of Capex, CSS budget to finish new, ongoing civil works
SRINAGAR: Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, today chaired a meeting at Civil Secretariat here to review progress on implementation of deliverables during 2022-23 and finalization of departmental deliverables for the financial year 2023-24.
The meeting held detailed discussion on action taken report and progress on different deliverables.
Dr Samoon directed the officers to regularly monitor progress on ongoing works and monitor expenditure in ITIs and polytechnics.
Among the deliverables for the year 2022-23, it was informed that skill training of 13000 COVID warriors in health sector and their accreditation by NSDC/ MDSE has been completed in all respects. It was also apprised that implementation of world bank funded STRIVE scheme, up skilling of SHG beneficiaries (6000 women) and formulation of panchayat level skill development plans has been completed.
During the meeting, Principal Secretary assessed progress on periodic revision of the course content of various training courses in line with rapidly evolving needs of the industries through their consultations.
Regarding finalization of deliverables for the financial year 2023-24, Dr Samoon directed the concerned for training of left out SHG members registered with NRLM/Tribal Affairs. He sought assessment of job placements from Polytechnics and ITIs over the last two years.
He directed the officers for complete utilisation of Capex, CSS budget to complete new and ongoing civil works including machinery and equipment. He also asked for identification of skill gaps and development of required skills in coordination with the concerned departments.
He also instructed the concerned for ensuring skill development training of 11000 youth and 20000 women SHGs under PMKVY 4.0 and JKNRLM, respectively, in collaboration with NSDC.
