ANANTNAG: A job fair cum Rozgar Mela was today held at Sports Stadium Dialgam. The event was presided over by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag SF Hamid.
The major highlights of the Mela were distribution of 90 vehicles among beneficiaries selected under the Mumkin Scheme, on spot appointment of 4 youths by the private sector and selection of 85 individuals who have been short listed by various private companies.
Speaking on the occasion , Deputy Commissioner said that aim of such events is to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers, creating opportunities for local youth.
He further added that the administration is committed for ensuring employment opportunities for all aspiring youths of the district under various schemes and missions.
A total of 10 private employers and 14 government departments actively participated in this job fair, demonstrating their commitment to empowering the local community.
The event attracted an impressive turnout, with 880 youth eagerly participating and interacting with the stakeholders. Out of these, 209 attendees formally registered for job placements. In an encouraging turn of events, 85 individuals were shortlisted by employers for potential positions.
This collaborative effort between the government, private sector, and local youth showcases a promising future for employment opportunities in Anantnag.
