BANDIPORA: The 70th Cooperative Week celebrations held on Saturday in district Bandipora, marking a significant milestone of cooperative movement within the region.
The week-long celebration, organized by the Department of Cooperatives Bandipora, was attended by Deputy Registrar Cooperatives Bandipora, Adnan Nazir, officials, farmers besides residents to commemorate seven decades of cooperative success and resilience.
The event was organised to highlight the crucial role cooperatives play in fostering economic development, social inclusion, and sustainable growth.
On the occasion, interactive sessions were conducted to promote awareness about the benefits of cooperative enterprises. These sessions focused on empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools necessary to establish and sustain successful cooperative ventures.
One of the central themes of the event was agriculture and rural development.
A special exhibition showcased the achievements of local farmers’ cooperatives, underscoring their vital role in enhancing agricultural productivity and improving livelihoods.
The celebrations featured activities designed to inspire and engage youth in cooperative initiatives. Youth-led discussions and forums emphasized the relevance of cooperatives in addressing contemporary challenges.
On the occasion, the Deputy Registrar said that over the past seven decades, there has been a positive impact of cooperatives on our community.
