KISHTWAR: The Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) today started a 6-day Management Development Programme (MDP) under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme here at ITI campus.

The programme was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar Rajesh Kumar Shavan.

Supported by the World Bank, the RAMP scheme is a flagship initiative aimed at strengthening the capabilities and performance of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the Union Territory.

The scheme focuses on enhancing market access, technology adoption, financial inclusion, and capacity building, while promoting greater synergy between central and UT-level institutions for the development of the MSME sector.

The training programme, organized by the JKEDI District Centre, witnessed the participation of 18 local MSME units.

The initiative will provide entrepreneurs with practical insights into business management, operational efficiency, and institutional support mechanisms. Participants will also benefit from interactive sessions with domain experts and officials from relevant departments.

Officials and faculty from JKEDI and ITI Kishtwar were also present at the inauguration.

The MDP under the RAMP scheme is a strategic step towards building a self-reliant MSME ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir, aligning with JKEDI’s mission to bridge the development gap between UT-based enterprises and their national counterparts.
