5 Day Hindi Creative Writers’ Workshop Commences at CUJ

JAMMU: Under the joint auspices of the Central Hindi Directorate, New Delhi and the Department of Hindi and other Indian languages, a five-day Hindi creative writers’ workshop was inaugurated at the Central University of Jammu, today. This workshop will continue till 16th February.

The inauguration ceremony of the workshop, organized under the coordination of Professor Bharat Bhushan, Head of the Hindi Department, and  the guidance of University Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain, was chaired by the Registrar of the University Prof. Yashwant Singh.

As a special guest at the inauguration ceremony, Professor Sunil Baburav Kulkarni, Director of the Central Hindi Directorate, New Delhi, said that the Central Hindi Directorate, New Delhi has always been striving for the promotion of Hindi in non-Hindi speaking areas. 

The Directorate has made concerted efforts to reach Hindi to every village in all directions of the country. 

During the corona period when the workshops were canceled, the direct organization of workshops has also led to the development of literary creative ability in the students along with the development of leadership skills in the children. He said that to become a poet, one must have the ability to express oneself. Poetry has also become important for a career in the present era.

Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar, CUJ said that the Hindi creative writer’s workshop in non-Hindi speaking areas will definitely increase interest in literature among the students here and it will also lead to the growth of Hindi literature. In today’s scientific age, there is a great need for literature.

Prof. Vandana Sharma, Dean School of Languages, said that in the developed India of today, there is a need to promote education based on Indian values among the youth. For this, youth should study literature deeply. At the beginning of the program, the Head of the Hindi Department welcomed all the guests and introduced them. External specialists present at the program included Prof. Ashok Kumar, Punjab University, Hindi literature Dr. Adarsh Prakash, litterateur Dr. Kshama Kaul, Dr. Bharat Bhushan Sharma and Assistant Director Natthulal from the Central Hindi Directorate, New Delhi were honored with mementos.

The program was conducted by the department’s Assistant Prof. Dr. Vandana Sharma, while the vote of thanks was given by co-coordinator Dr. Bijendra of the gratitude department. The successful organization of the program was also due to the special contribution of the department’s co-coordinator Dr. Shashikant Mishra, Assistant Professor Dr. Ratnesh Yadav, Dr. Arvind, Dr. Vinay Shukla besides research scholars and other students.
