DODA: To gear-up for ULB polls, the District Election Office Doda organized third training session for Returning Officers (ROs) and Assistant Returning Officers (AROs).
The training session, organized on the directection of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), J&K, aimed to equip election officials with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure the smooth and transparent conduct of Municipal Elections in Doda, Bhaderwah, and Thathri Towns.
The day-long training session held in the Conference Hall of the DC office complex, was led by Tariq Qazi, State Level Master Trainer, District Level Master Trainer, Dr. Akhtar Hussain, and Election Naib Teshildar, Angrez Singh Jasrotia.
During the training, ROs and AROs were educated about their role and responsibilities, election management, nomination procedures, scrutiny of nomination papers, withdrawal of candidatures, Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) management, poll conduct, result counting, and compliance with the model code of conduct for the upcoming Municipal Elections. The trainers provided a comprehensive overview of the RO Handbook for Municipal Elections 2023, the Jammu and Kashmir Municipal Elections Act 2000, and the Jammu and Kashmir Municipal (Elections) Rules 2003. The session also featured an interactive question-and-answer segment to address any queries and ensure clarity on election procedures.
At the conclusion of the training, Election Naib Teshildar Angrez Singh Jasrotia encouraged AROs to maintain open communication and coordination with their respective ROs to ensure the smooth and hassle-free execution of election activities.
