DC takes comprehensive review of progress  

DODA: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda Harvinder Singh chaired an important meeting in the conference hall of Doda to meticulously review the progress of various developmental activities.

These activities, falling under schemes such as District/UT Capex, CSS, NABARD, ABDP, and APDP, were examined thoroughly. The Chief Planning Officer and the Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) of Doda presented a detailed overview of the ongoing projects across the line departments, including PHE, PWD, JKPDCL, Irrigation, Agriculture, Education, Health, Municipal Councils, Forest, ICDS, Youth Services and Sports, RDD, and GDC. It was reported that out of 2820 approved works, 2750 have taken off, with an expenditure of 40 percent already allocated under the capex budget for the current year.

The meeting primarily aimed at assessing the implementation and progress of the aforementioned schemes, also included discussions on the Aspirational Block Development Plan and the Aspirational Panchayat Development Plan. Harvinder Singh stressed the necessity of proper planning, execution, and monitoring to achieve the intended outcomes. He emphasized the need for effective inter-departmental coordination and urged the officials to proactively address any impediments to progress. Additionally, Singh directed all Block Development Officers (BDOs) to provide accurate figures of the work completed under the capex budget and to expedite the progress of projects lagging behind, aiming for at least 75 percent completion within the stipulated time.

Furthermore, the meeting functioned as a platform to deliberate on challenges and propose improvements. Singh encouraged all stakeholders to collaborate towards the successful implementation of the schemes, emphasizing the efficient and timely utilization of funds to prevent any lapses. He also urged BDOs to regularly visit aspirational blocks and panchayats to ensure the availability of proper facilities and to help elevate the standard of living in these areas. The meeting saw the attendance of prominent officials, including ADDC Doda Pran Singh, CPO Doda Suresh Sharma, ACD Doda Phulail Singh, and representatives from various departments, highlighting the collective effort required for the holistic development of Doda.
