2-Day Public Outreach Program concludes successfully in remote Dessa area

DODA: The District Administration Doda, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, organized a significant 2-day public outreach program at Bhatta Gai, Mallan A, Mallan B, Zartund Grammari, and other remote areas of Dessa area.

The outreach programme concluded successfully today. The programme witnessed a huge turnout, including local residents, members of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), and area representatives. The gathering provided a platform for the public to voice their concerns, grievances, and demands.

During the program, ACD, Phulail Singh, issued instructions to the concerned departments for execution of developmental works to benefit the area.

Notable directions included the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) by the BDO Bhagwah in collaboration with the forest department for reconstruction of bridges washed away in floods. Additionally, a plan was set in motion for road construction from Gai to Galli Top under rural connectivity initiatives.

 Tehsildar Bhagwah and Range Officer Siraz were directed to ensure land demarcation for Bhatta High School. The sheep husbandry department was tasked with re-verifying the list of beneficiaries, while the JK Bank Manager was instructed to publicize the list of selected Business Correspondents (BCs). He also reviewed the progress of works under Jal Jeevan Mission in the area to provide safe drinking tap water to every household as envisaged in the scheme.

Earlier, the locals demanded road connectivity, renovation of local school building, reconstruction of bridges and pulleys over nallahs damaged by flash floods, and land demarcation for Bhatta High School.

The replacement of wooden poles and sanction of timber for PMAY beneficiaries were other demands. The outreach program witnessed the participation of numerous government functionaries, including DFO, Tehsildar Bhagwah, BDO Bhagwah, CDPO Bhagwah, Range Officer Siraj, AEE PDCL, along with field functionaries from the sheep husbandry, Jal Shakti, animal husbandry, Agriculture, Horticulture and education departments. Local Sarpanches, public representatives, and local leaders also actively engaged in this community-focused initiative.
