144 aspirants paid to get NEET papers solved: CBI

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed its third chargesheet in the NEET paper leak case, naming 21 accused before the Special Court for CBI cases in Patna. The chargesheet, comprising over 5,500 pages, is the latest development in the investigation of the theft of the NEET-UG 2024 question paper.

The CBI investigation revealed that the question paper was stolen on May 5, 2024, from the controlroom of OASIS School, Hazaribagh, after trunks containing the papers arrived from the bank vault. The agency has listed 298 witnesses, 290 documents and 45 material objects in the chargesheet. So far, 49 people have been arrested, with charges filed against 40 of them.

The CBI has identified 144 candidates who had allegedly paid to get NEET-UG leaked and solved papers hours before they were to take the exam.
