RAJOURI: To address people’s grievances at their very doorsteps, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat today chaired weekly Block Diwas public outreach camp at Dreari panchayat of border block Manjakote
The remarkable event witnessed a diverse array of concerns passionately voiced by the public and their representatives. The demands raised by the locals ranged from the macadamization of roads, adequate staff and upgrading of government institutions, meeting water shortage and the essential augmentation of healthcare infrastructure.
Specific issues which were highlighted during the event sanctioning a Degree College for block Manjakote, blacktopping BG to Kakora road, scarcity of water, speedy implementation of JJM scheme, link road from Chennar Manda to main road, sanctioning JK Bank branch at panchayat Dreari, opening a cutting and tailoring centre, shortage of electricity poles, sanctioning an anganwadi centre at ward No. 02 Dagrote, inclusion of left out eligible beneficiaries under PMAY-G etc.
Other issues were sanctioning handpumps at Deri Ralyote Upper and Lower panchayat, construction of road from Khori to Nada, completion of work on main road to Dreari, road from main road to Patrara, sanctioning additional border bunkers, shortage of staff in schools, construction of road from Daka to Upper Dagrote, road from Galhuti to Gambir Muglan etc.
Notably, the event also provided a platform to the government officers to enlighten the public about the multitude of schemes and programs being executed by their respective departments in the district. They motivated the attendees to embrace and benefit from these initiatives for the betterment of their lives.
The Deputy Commissioner Om Prakash Bhagat assured the public that all their concerns had been meticulously documented and that each genuine issue would be addressed through the intervention of the respective departments in a phased and time-bound manner.
The Deputy Commissioner Om Prakash Bhagat also acknowledged the invaluable contribution of all stakeholders who have played a vital role in achieving the objectives of government initiatives. He fervently encouraged them to persist in their hard work for the greater good of the common masses.
During the public outreach camp, the Deputy Commissioner assured that the paramount focus of the Government is ensuring all essential facilities reach the doorstep of the general public. He assured attendees that the most robust measures are actively being pursued to achieve this ambitious goal.
The Deputy Commissioner also issued on the spot directives to the concerned departments to prioritize and resolve the issues flagged by the public. Remarkably, several issues found resolution right there with the prompt intervention of the dedicated departments.
In line with the imperative goals of the Jal Jeevan Mission, the Deputy Commissioner has instructed the concerned officer from the Jal Shakti department to expedite the completion of schemes. This directive underscores the commitment to ensuring the earliest realization of essential water projects, emphasizing the paramount importance of expeditious action for the convenience and well-being of the public.
Moreover, in response to the need for a Degree College in Manjakote, the DC assured that he will take up the matter with the concerned authorities, highlighting the commitment to enhancing educational opportunities in the region.
During the public outreach camp, the Deputy Commissioner asserted the completion of border bunkers as a critical priority He directed the concerned officer to expedite the construction process, setting a firm deadline of March 31, 2024, underscoring the unwavering dedication of the Government to ensuring the safety and security of the border areas.
At the Block Diwas event, the Deputy Commissioner Om Prakash Bhagat issued a pivotal directive for seamless collaboration among the concerned departments. Emphasizing the imperative of swift resolution, the Deputy Commissioner called for a united effort to eliminate bottlenecks hindering the timely execution of developmental projects.
